Major achievements in Kozhikode district:
INFRASTRUCTURE
Reopened IP wards in six institutions and supported them with additional staff. These institutions have become a part of the life of the locality--proven by high patient turn up, enthusiastic involvement of people's representatives.
Restored delivery services in three institutions--Perambra, Kuttiyadi and Cheroopa. These institutions now give excellent service and record good number of deliveries. This has reduced the number of referrals to W&C hospital—thus reducing the burden to the people. Resources at W&C can be utilized in better ways.
Ugprading 11 CHCs to Indian Public Health Standards
HUMAN RESOURCES
Strengthened the HR structure by appointing 172 clinical staff. These include 7 Specialist Doctors, 11 MBBS Doctors, 5 Dental Surgeons, 29 MBBS Doctors, 104 Staff Nurses, 8 Ayurveda Doctors, 8 Homoeo Doctors.

Rs. 3 crores distributed to 35,310 beneficiaries. Effective ASHA support given to pregnant women has reduced MMR from …….. to ……….. and IMR from …….. to ……..
